The installation of glass curtains on the walls of the Wukesong Indoor Stadium,where the basketball events of the Beijing Olympic Games will be held,has been completed, according to the Beijing 2008 Project Construction Headquarters Office.
This is another major success in the construction of the venue since the removal of the 3500-ton steel trusses from a 120-meter-long span on September 17 last year, the office said on Thursday.
The square-shaped venue has a floor space of 63,000 square meters and 18,000 seats. Its exterior walls, all decorated with emerald green glass curtains, measure a total of 18,000 squarer meters.
