On July 2, Tianjin Hospital officially became Tianjin Hospital of Tianjin University with the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the hospital and the university at the hospital's 2nd Trauma and Emergency Medical Academicians Forum.

According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the following areas: shared building of a key national laboratory through promotion of a scientific research platform and clinical base; joint research by teachers and doctors; establishment of a Tianjin University center that prioritizes cooperation in biomedical engineering, biological information and medical information engineering, new medical equipment, medicines and medical materials development and clinical base construction; joint cultivation of innovative medical talents and new engineering talents focused on high-level clinical medicine, medical engineering and medical personnel cultivation; joint organization of international medical conferences and academic organizations; and promotion of communication between teachers, doctors, professors and jointly cultivated talents.

Tianjin Hospital is a third-tier class A comprehensive hospital and regional medical center, ranking first in the country for comprehensive strength.

Li Jiajun, secretary of the Party committee of Tianjin University, pointed out in a speech that Tianjin University, formerly known as Beiyang University, shares a valuable history with Tianjin Hospital.

Combining medical science with technical work has always been the approach of both Beiyang and Tianjin University, he added.

Xiong Xiangbo, secretary of the Party committee of Tianjin Hospital, expressed her best wishes for cooperation between the university and hospital.The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Traumatic Orthopedics Medical Association was also launched at the forum.
