"That was a lesson for us that if you want to be successful in China, you have to focus on China - China's needs and China's customers. So we need a change."

Nicholas Speeks, president and CEO of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co Ltd, saying that though Mercedes-Benz has recovered from its disappointing sales figures last year, it is still not satisfied.

"Chinese luxury hotels are mostly developed by foreign companies. Why can't Chinese developers do the same in other countries?"

Cai Jin, vice-chairman of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing commenting on the recent economic indicators that indicated China's growth may wane. The expansion pace of China's non-manufacturing industries slowed to a nine-month low last month, in line with the weakest factory activity in four months, suggesting higher downside risk to second-quarter economic growth.
