According to the New Era's requirements, the museum industry itself needs to focus on strengthening vitality, injecting momentum and breaking with rigid ways of thinking, Liu said. Museums need to make bold explorations and come up with a series of reform measures so as to enhance the vigor of the museum industry, particularly in the areas of setup, operations, management, personnel training, exhibition organization, visitor services and social education, he added.

In Shan's keynote speech, he shared the Palace Museum's practices and experiences in terms of exhibitions, services, facilities, the development of cultural creative products, the digital Imperial Palace and environmental protection. Furthermore, the curator said that to better museum work, confidence in Chinese culture should be strengthened, for cultural confidence can serve as the inner driving force to help museums grow and prosper and make our cultural relics "come to life".

Centered on the development trends of museums in the New Era and the important role museums play in the innovation of traditional culture, curators from around the country enthusiastically voiced their opinions and reached consensus on many issues.

At the forum, a strategic partnership was signed between the National Museum of China, the Palace Museum, the Capital Museum of China, Tianjin Museum, Hebei Museum and the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
