Marital museum in Shanghai charts marriage customs

The Shanghai Marital Culture Museum opened in Shanghai on Monday, offering a glimpse of the traditions and changing culture of local marriage customs since the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
The museum features three major sections, namely, Marriage Registration Management System, Marital Customs, and Family Precepts and Traditions. Through exhibits including marriage certificates, wedding photos and dowries for the big days, visitors will walk down the memory lane to learn about the city's marital history, which will also strike a chord with people from across China.
