WuXi AppTec, a leading global pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical device company, has announced the launch of its Laboratory Testing Division's new medical device testing center in the city of Suzhou in China.

The move marks the full implementation of the company's medical device testing capabilities in the Chinese market, which also works with its existing United States-based medical device testing centers to serve medical device customers worldwide.

"We enable scientists to transform ideas into healthcare products, accelerate the development and commercialization from bench to bedside," said Jason Liu, senior vice-president of WuXi AppTec and chief operating officer of its Laboratory Testing Division, during the launch ceremony on Nov 16.

By providing integrated medical device testing and regulatory services from research and development to commercialization, WuXi AppTec's Laboratory Testing Division enables medical device companies to efficiently control product quality in its product life cycle from R&D to commercial sales.

Covering 15,000 square meters, the new center will provide comprehensive medical device testing services that include biomaterials analysis, toxicology, biocompatibility, risk assessment, product aseptic design microbiology, physical testing of packaging and shelf life, product batch release testing and more.
