China's financial center Shanghai was the most attractive city for expats for the seventh consecutive year, according to the latest ranking revealed in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province.

Participants of this year's survey for "Amazing China -- the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Expats 2018" include about 100,000 foreign netizens, among them Nobel laureates and a Turing Prize winner.

Cultural and political capital Beijing grabbed the second spot, followed by Hefei in East China's Anhui province, Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province and Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province according to the ranking, released by the Ministry of Science and Technology and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.
