Jack Ma left his high-profile position as Alibaba's chairman on his birthday Tuesday as the company also celebrated its 20th anniversary.
After leaving office, he will spend more time on education, philanthropy and environmental protection, Ma said at the celebration.
According to Ma's Weibo account, he still holds a post as a board member of Alibaba Group until the company's annual general meeting next year.
