Seven new music pieces by Chinese composers from the China Conservatory of Music premiered at Beijing Concert Hall on Tuesday, including Zhu Lin's Phantom, Xie Wenhui's 2049:1, and Wang Yu's Miner Suite's first movement, Father.

Composer Yuan Haoyu's The One-Winged Bird was inspired by the poem of the same title by the late Chinese poet, Haizi, which is a romantic piece. Composer Luo Maishuo's pipa concerto, Sky Ladder, showcases the versatility of the traditional Chinese musical instrument, a four-stringed Chinese lute. Composer Liu Qing's piece, Endlessness, employs the musical form, passacaglia, which delivers the messages of the circle of life.

All of the seven composers are teaching at the China Conservatory of Music. The concert was performed by the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Xu Zhijun.
