10,000-ton carbon fiber production base in operation in Qinghai

China's largest carbon fiber production facility was officially put into operation in Xining in Northwest China's Qinghai province. China National Building Material Group (CNBM) made the announcement at a conference on Sept 8, adding that the company achieved for the first time a single-line annual output of 3,000 tons of high-performance carbon fiber production line with fully independent intellectual property rights.

The 10,000-ton carbon fiber base of CNBM in Xining started construction in May 2019, with a total area of 800 acres. The company invested 5 billion yuan in the base, with the technology and scale placing the firm at the top of the domestic industry.

The expected capacity of the production base is 25,000 tons.
