The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was a great success and a very good kick off for raising interest of the general public in China for winter sports, said Michael Berger, commercial counselor at the Austrian embassy to China, during an exclusive interview with China Daily Website at the 2022 CIFTIS in Beijing.

Austria, a traditional powerhouse in ice and snow sports, attended the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services from Sept 1 to 5, with eight of its winter sports companies taking part in the annual event.

As China has become Austria's second-largest supplier of imports, the counselor believes that there are plenty of opportunities for China and Austria to cooperate in the trade and economic sector in the future.
