China Telecom will step up their push to leverage cutting-edge technologies to help spur consumption demand by building digital life platforms and honing its technological edges.

Ke Ruiwen, chairman of China Telecom, said that a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, which is spurring demand for new consumption forms.

To implement the strategy of expanding domestic demand, China Telecom will actively explore and promote the integration of networks, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other key digital technologies and help promote new consumption platforms in many areas of economic and social life, Ke said.

Based on its existing resources, China Telecom will give full play to its online payment platform in expanding the consumption scale and deepen its efforts to integrate industrial chains and supply chains and better explore new business forms and new models to stimulate consumption potential, Ke added.

China Telecom is actively exploring quantum technologies to provide better telecom services. It has established a joint venture with QuantumCTek, a Chinese pioneer in providing quantum communication-based encrypted services and devices, in 2020 to provide such services. The venture, called China Telecom Quantum Technology Co Ltd, has tested quantum encryption calls in 15 provinces since June,2021.

The users can access secure calls and messages encrypted with quantum keys after inserting a SIM card and installing a related app, which ensures information security,China Telecom Quantum Technology Co Ltd said.
