The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, originated in remembrance of the ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan. It is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Traditional festivities include eating zongzi, drinking realgar wine and racing dragon boats.
