Beijing Guoan edges Shanghai Shenhua in Chinese Super League
BEIJING - Portuguese striker Fabio Abreu scored twice to help Beijing Guoan edge Shanghai Shenhua 2-1 in the 2023 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday.
Shenhua's Cameroonian forward Christian Bassogog broke the deadlock in the 13th minute with a long-range effort.
However, Fabio equalized for Guoan almost immediately, and his header in the 36th minute sealed the victory.
After the game, Beijing Guoan ranks fourth in the CSL table, with Shanghai Shenhua sitting third.
Elsewhere, Henan FC whitewashed Dalian Pro 3-0. Serbian midfielder Djordje Denic put Henan ahead in the 23rd minute, Polish midfielder Adrian Mierzejewski doubled the lead just two minutes later, and Huang Zichang completed the scoring shortly before half-time.
In other games, Nantong Zhiyun defeated Shenzhen FC 1-0, and Wuhan Three Towns beat Chengdu Rongcheng 1-0.
