Financial industry should serve real economy: Expert

The fundamental nature of finance is that it is a service industry, and its paramount duty is to serve the real economy, said Tian Xuan, associate dean of Tsinghua University's PBC School of Finance, in an exclusive interview with China Daily.
It is not acceptable for financial activities to allow capital to circulate idly within the financial sector, detached from the real economy, he said.
