China never develops diplomatic relations with any country to target a third party, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

Guo Jiakun, a spokesman for the ministry, made the remarks after United States President Donald Trump accused Beijing of conspiring against Washington as leaders of Beijing, Moscow and Pyongyang attended the gathering on Wednesday in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

China's invitation to foreign guests to attend the event was meant to join hands with peace-loving countries and peoples to remember history, honor the martyrs and cherish peace, he said.
