Eliminating hazards with maintenance
Chinese railway operators have taken moves to eliminate locomotive-related hazards to fully ensure the safe transport of coal this winter. Since New Year's Day, employees at Houma North Locomotive Depot in Shanxi province have conducted comprehensive refurbishment operations centered on newly-allocated HXD2 locomotives, focusing on seasonal disease rectification and targeting key components such as high-voltage roof equipment and running gears, to fully eliminate any potential hazards.
Bamboo sector tops 520b yuan in output
China's bamboo industry has achieved an annual output value of over 520 billion yuan ($74.77 billion), with more than 15,000 types of bamboo products available, data from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration show. Under the three-year action plan to accelerate replacing plastic with bamboo, the government has implemented supportive policies to foster industrial clustering, according to the administration. Currently, China has more than 10,000 bamboo processing enterprises, supporting the employment of over 29 million people along the entire industrial chain.
