Kids at a kindergarten in Jimo district of Qingdao, Shandong province, took part in a lively class on Thursday, painting colorful eggs and trying to balance them upright to welcome the upcoming Spring Equinox, called chun fen in Chinese.

This year's Spring Equinox, when day and night are nearly equal, falls on Friday.
