Half a million autos to be exported

China's export volume of vehicles is expected to reach 510,000 this year. Total export value is expected to be around US$5.6 billion, said Fu Peizhao, an official with the Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products

Fu said the Chinese auto industry has grown rapidly in the past three years. Last year China saw 343,500 vehicles exported, increasing by 97.2 percent year-on-year. Export value that year totaled US$3.134 billion, achieving a 97.8 percent growth.

In the first three months of this year, around 141,800 vehicles were exported, equivalent to 41 percent of last year's total. The growth of auto exports far surpasses exports of other machinery and electronic products.
