The Property Law of the People's Republic of China was passed by the fifth meeting of the Tenth National People's Congress on March 16, 2007 and put into effect on October 1, 2007.

The Property Law includes 5 parts, 19 chapters and 247 articles.

It is a fundamental law of China's socialist legal system, decisive for upholding and improving the country's basic economic system, improving the socialist market economic system, and realizing and safeguarding the fundamental interests of the people.
