LONDON - Two books designed to facilitate better understanding between British and Chinese businesses were launched in London on Monday.

The two handbooks, "Active Business Travel: Great Britain" in Chinese and "Active Business Travel: China" in English, are an initiative of the Chinese Business Association of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the growing Sino-British trade development and economic ties.

Ou Yan, founding Chairman of the CBA and managing director of China Telecom (Europe) Ltd, said while there were numerous business guides on how to do business in China or Britain, few provide as thorough a guide.

Peter Bishop, deputy chief executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: "It is important for the future economic growth of the country that British businesses increasingly look to markets like China for their goods and services."

"These books are a must-have for anyone who wants to do business in China and for the rising number of Chinese companies who are setting up in the UK," Bishop said.

The books are written by Yintong Bester, a British China marketing and businesses communications specialist and founder of the Active Anglo Chinese Communications company.

China and Britain has seen increasing trade and business travel this year. Britain is now the third-largest trade partner in EU countries, and the two countries' bilateral trade increased 17.2 percent year-on-year to $58.7 billion in 2011.

Two-way trade between the countries are expected to exceed $100 billion by 2015.
