24-hour childcare comes at a hefty price

Some parents of under-2s in Shanghai may feel relieved that a kindergarten has opened offering round-the-clock care. But this comes at a price 5,000 yuan (US$616) per month.

At the kindergarten, each baby has its own room and babysitter, who will accompany it 24 hours a day.

Three babies currently stay at the kindergarten, with one having lived there for three months because his parents are overseas.??
