Chinese shares close 1.82% lower, tracking Wall St losses

BEIJING -- Chinese shares ended 1.82 percent lower on Tuesday, tracking losses on Wall Street.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dipped 1.82 percent or 52.70 points, finishing at 2,850.31 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 9,791.87 points, down 1.83 percent, or 182.27 points.

Combined turnover dropped to 90.9 billion yuan (about US$13 billion) from 99.9 billion yuan over the previous close.
