Grandma happy to act as disabled neighbor's carer

Yan, 92, a resident of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, has cared for Hu Cewa, her 55-year-old neighbor for 30 years.

Yan is a retired worker who lives in Fulongping residential community. Hu is her mentally disabled next-door neighbor whose parents died years ago. As she obviously needs help to survive, Yan decided to look after her on her meager pension.

"I do not know her full name, I just call her grandma Yan," Hu said.

Yan says she intends to look after Hu for the rest of her life.
