Officers conclude it's just a crime of the heart

A Hong Kong woman who didn't want to lose her younger boyfriend, altered the date of birth on her passport to make herself younger, but she didn't fool immigration officers in Shanghai.

After her arrival at Pudong Airport, an officer saw that she wasn't the youthful woman she tried to be.

Under questioning, she admitted she changed 1968 to 1978 using a small piece of paper over the 6, which made her 10 years younger.

She explained she wanted to keep her boyfriend who was actually 12 years younger than she.

Her forthright attitude led authorities to let her pass through.

Swindler learns his targets are police officers

Police arrested a Shanghai man after he tried to swindle a policeman's friends and colleagues through his mobile phone.

The cop left his phone in a taxi last June that included some telephone numbers.

Late last month, Xu's colleagues received a text message saying that Xu was in an accident outside Shanghai, and it asked each of them to send 2,000 yuan to a bank account.

They were puzzled because Xu was working with them at the time. After they captured the swindler, Xu and his colleagues found that he sent the same message to every number in his phone.
