Father fakes illness to escape from pyramid gang

A quick-thinking father faked illness in order to escape the secured compound of an illegal pyramid scheme gang in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province.

After his son fell into the pyramid selling scheme days ago, the father tried to rescue him on Thursday but was forced to stay there by the organizers.

He took some medicine, cried for help and begged those controlling the pyramid selling scheme to escort him to the hospital. Once inside the hospital, he told doctors about his ordeal and they called police.

Cops raided the house and freed 13 others held inside.
