Chinese envoy in Seoul for talks on DPRK

SEOUL, South Korea: China's top nuclear envoy has arrived in South Korea as part of diplomatic efforts to revive the stalled talks on of denuclearization of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei arrived in Seoul on Sunday after visiting Russia, the US and Japan to discuss DPRK nuclear development with his counterparts.

South Korea's Foreign Ministry said Wu plans to hold talks with his South Korean counterpart and other officials on Monday.

The trip comes as the US is moving to enforce U.N. sanctions against DPRK for its May 25 nuclear test. Pyongyang also recently fired seven ballistic missiles in defiance of U.N. Security Council resolutions.
