A multimillion-dollar expansion at its Shanghai Songjiang site has been completed by Dow Corning (Shanghai) Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Dow Corning Corporation.

The company is a global leader in silicones, silicone-based technology and innovation.

It said its newly established solventless silicone manufacturing system demonstrates its continued efforts to increase efficiency in the regional supply chain, and brings environmental and financial benefits for customers across China and the Asia-Pacific region because no solvents are used.

"The China market has been a significant contributor to our success, and expanding our manufacturing presence allows us to continue innovating and providing tailor-made products and solutions for our customers here," said Jeremy Burks, Dow Corning Greater China president.

Since entering the China market in 1973, Dow Corning's combined investment in the country has topped $2 billion.

The company's three major facilities in China are the newly expanded Songjiang site, the Zhangjiagang manufacturing facility and Shanghai's Dow Corning China Business and Technology Center.
