A court in Beijing on Nov 17 upheld the earlier verdict of Li Tianyi, the teenage son of a famous Chinese military singer, giving him a 10 years imprisonment and concluding the case in the national spotlight.

Beijing Haidian District People's Court gave the first-instance verdict for the five defendants in the gang rape case, and the other four received sentences from three years with probation to 12 years in prison, on Sep 26. The No 1 Intermediate People's Court of Beijing upheld the verdict in the second trial.

Li Tianyi, 17, gang raped a woman surnamed Yang, 23 in a hotel with four others after getting drunk in a bar on Feb 20, according to Beijing Haidian District People's Court.
