The Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress invited 10 overseas Chinese to attend this year's session as observers, organizers said.

The 10 overseas Chinese, who have contributed to cultural and economic exchanges between Guangdong and countries over the past few years, are from nine countries, according to the congress standing committee.

“They will be assigned to several delegations to participate in discussions during the congress, contributing ideas and exerting efforts for Guangdong's social and economic development,” said Zhu Guoxiang, deputy director of the overseas Chinese, ethnic and religious affairs committee of the Guangdong provincial people's congress.
