A woman who was attacked by a Siberian tiger at Badaling Wildlife World in July said on Tuesday that she was going to sue the park for compensation, The Beijing News reported.

The 32-year-old, surnamed Zhao, was mauled by a tiger on July 23 after getting out of her car before the vehicle had safely exited the wildlife enclosure.

Her mother, surnamed Zhou, was killed by a second tiger as she tried to come to her daughter's aid.

An investigation carried out by the district government at the time said the tourists were at fault for ignoring safety reminders, yet it also said greater efforts should have been made to remind visitors of the dangers involved with self-drive tours in safari parks.

A safety inspection by a certified third-party organization was called for, with the results to be submitted to the local government.

Zhao said she believes her mother's death was caused by flaws at the park, which she accused of putting commercial interest above the safety of visitors.

She is seeking 1.54 million yuan ($223,500) in compensation to cover funeral and medical expenses, mental anguish and costs.

Her application has been made to the Beijing High Court.
