Chinese liquor companies led by Kweichow Moutai Co had their toughest year in a long time after suffering a sharp drop in sales and profit growth.

The industry will have to make regular adjustments to suit the market, analysts expect.

The profit growth of Kweichow Moutai hit bottom since listing in 2011. The downward trend is likely to continue, as revealed in its half-year report for 2013 released at the end of August.
