The establishment of the Daqing Volvo Car Manufacturing Co is confirmation of Daqing and Heilongjiang province's attractive business environment, according to company executives.

"The company's establishment in Daqing city is an important part of Volvo's global strategy," said Hakan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Group, which is headquartered in Sweden.

On Nov 12, 2014, Samuelsson announced that Volvo Group would provide Daqing Volvo with scalable platform architecture, or SPA, for manufacturing most of Volvo's car models and would build the facility into one of Volvo's most advanced manufacturing centers in the world.
