In her role in the upcoming movie Legend of the Naga Pearls, actress Zhang Tian'ai has wings and can fly.

Speaking about her role, Zhang says it was her first experience of a special effects movie, and around 2,300 scenes were filmed using digital technology.

"Most of the time, we worked in empty rooms covered with green screens. It was very stressful to pretend (to fight against monsters)," says Zhang.

The film, based on the 2011 best-selling novel Novoland: City of Desperate Love, will open across the Chinese mainland on Aug 11.

The movie, directed by Yang Lei, also stars Taiwan actor Darren Wang and mainland actor Sheng Guansen.
