Quake hits sea area off Taiwan

BEIJING -- A 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit a sea area east of Hualien of Taiwan at 6:04 a.m. Sunday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Administration.

The quake struck the area 24.2 degrees north latitude and 121.8 degrees east longitude at a depth of around 10 km.
