Sichuan cuisine in Hong Kong

5 This June, Da Rong He, an award-winning Sichuan restaurant in Chengdu will return to the one-Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, Man Wah at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. From June 22 to 30, a team of six chefs will excite gastronomes in Hong Kong by presenting a series of signature and a new delicate take on Sichuan cuisine. Founded in 1999, Da Rong He has over 30 outlets in cities throughout China. It's well known for combining Sichuanese flavors with the presentation of Huaiyang cuisine, Suhang's regional colors, and Guangdong province's cooking techniques. Guests in Hong Kong can enjoy more than 25 signature dishes, half of which will be presented to Hong Kong for the first time.

Some of the highlights include tea-smoked duck; and steamed fish head with red chili, while the new dishes include chicken with chili sauce and sesame dressing; fresh abalone, cumin and peppercorn; and wok fried rabbit, red chili and peppercorn. Dishes can be ordered individually, while special six-course lunch and eight-course dinner menus will also be available at HK$698 ($90) and HK$ 1,580 respectively, plus service charge.
