Information platform developed

At a software training class on "Vehicle and ship maintenance equipment and
materials management system"held by the Shenyang Military Area Command in
mid-September, the trainees showed the reporters what they had learnt in the
class: Accurate long-distance network statistics, real-time generation of
dynamic stored information and swift support of urgent equipment and materials.
Along with the completion of training of specialized managerial personnel and
distribution of complete set of computer network equipment and software to the
subordinate units, the transformation of management of vehicle and ship
maintenance equipment and materials from semi-automation to informationalization
has basically been realized.
Equipment and materials for vehicle and ship maintenance are great in variety
as well as quantity. In the past, it mainly relied on manpower management, which
could hardly meet the need of future war. A unit of the Shenyang Military Area
Command came up with an idea of building an information platform for vehicle and
ship maintenance equipment and materials management. By absorbing new experience
from other units and through nearly a hundred times of experiments, they had
successfully developed the "Vehicle and ship maintenance equipment and materials
management system"which made it possible the systematic management of vehicle
and ship maintenance equipment and materials, service life monitoring and
information sharing and exchange.
By comprehensive treatment of related information and data on vehicle and
ship maintenance equipment and materials, the system is able to timely provide
many accurate technical parameters such as categories, marks, locations and
performances of the maintenance equipment and materials. The development of the
system has not only beefed up the equipment and materials management level, but
also helped to foster a large number of management
personnel.
