The third round of six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue ended in Beijing Saturday with all parties agreeing to work for realizing the ultimate goal of the Peninsula's denuclearization.

Chinese delegation head to the talks Wang Yi described this round of talks as peaceful in atmosphere, profound in discussions, rich in contents, and pragmatic in attitude.

"It reflects the spirit of respecting each other, consulting on the basis of equality, and seeking common ground while leaving aside differences," said Wang, also Chinese vice foreign minister.

This round of talks, based on the consolidation of previous achievements, has reached a series of new consensus and forged new steps for the goal of denuclearization, according to Wang.

The participants adopted a concept paper of the working group and released the second chairman's statement since the talks were started last year, he said. "This indicates the six-party talks process will continue."

According to the chairman's statement, the next round of the talks will be held no later than the end of September this year.

Wang stressed China will stick to an objective and just position, continue active mediation, and make unremitting efforts to realize the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and create a future with lasting peace, security and prosperity for northeast Asia.

All the delegation heads held that this round of talks and the achievements already made have once again enhanced their determination to resolve the nuclear issue through the mechanism of six-party talks, Wang said.

All parties would continue to work for the ultimate goal of the Peninsula's denuclearization "in the spirit of respecting each other and broadening common ground," he said.

The parties concerned spoke highly of the important role played by China in the talks and expressed appreciation for the considerate arrangement made by China in all respects.

The third round of six-party talks, involving China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan, run from Wednesday to Saturday.
