China, Pakistan to set up anti-terror hotline

China and Pakistan will set up a telephone hotline to share intelligence in the fight against terrorism, Pakistan's Interior Ministry spokesman said Thursday.

The hotline will be linked between Pakistan's Interior Ministry and China's Public Security Ministry, said spokesman Abider Rave Chaudhry.

The agreement comes after Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayyat visited Beijing this week to discuss ways to develop better coordination between the two countries in fighting terrorism.

Hayyat's visit to Beijing came weeks after Pakistan's President Gen. Pervez Musharraf claimed that a top terror suspect responsible for terrorism in China had been killed by Pakistani security forces in a tribal region.

However, he did not identify the suspect or say precisely when or where he was killed.
