"Dynamic Yunnan" sets for world tour

Chinese peacock dancer Yang Liping plans to add new twists to her "Dynamic Yunan", the Golden Lotus Award winning dance performance, for her upcoming world tour next year.

The grand dance musical will stage its 200th performance in its nationwide tour on September 30th in Shanghai Theatre. China Radio International reported Monday.

Dynamic Yunnan is an original ethnic dance musical. The director illustrates the richness of Yunnan minorities' culture by blending the essence of traditional songs with folk dance.

Yang Liping became an overnight success in 1986 after performing her solo dance "The Spirit of the Peacock" in a national contest.
