David Beckham's representatives have denied reports that the England captain is out of next week's friendly against Spain.

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham has all but ruled himself out of England's friendly international with Spain in Madrid next week.[AFP]

Stories in Spain suggested Beckham hag given up hope of recovering in time from his rib injury for the match at the Bernabeu, and is instead aiming to be fit for the game against Barcelona in 11 days' time.

A spokesman for Beckham told PA International: 'This is not the case. David is hoping to play at the weekend against Albacete with a view to being fit for England next Wednesday.'
