Bus crash kills 26, injures 46 in Shaanxi A bus turned over Saturday morning, killing 25 people and injuring another 46 on board, in Shaanxi Province, including 13 in serious conditions, according to local sources. The accident happened at 6:05 a.m. on a highway between Xi'an and Zhouzhi County of the province. The bus, with 49 people on board, turned over and fell down to a river nearby. The bus was owned by Bazhong Transportation Company of neighboring Sichuan Province. Leading officials from the provincial and city government have arrived at the
site to guide the investigation and rescue work.
An additional 46 people, including five children, were injured; 13 of them are in serious condition. Twenty-five people died on the spot, and one died on the way to hospital. The bus, with 72 people on board, rolled over and fell down a river bank on a highway between Xi'an and Zhouzhi County at about 5:00 a.m. Saturday. The bus was traveling from neighboring Sichuan Province to Shanghai. Most of the passengers were farmers going to look for jobs in Shanghai.
