A new survey shows that children aged 0-6 in some Chinese cities are at least two centimeters taller than those of ten years ago.

The survey outcome on health status of Chinese children aged 0- 6, was officially released Friday by the Women and Children Work Committee under the State Council, or the central government.

The survey shows that boys aged 18 months, 3.5 years, 4 years, 4.5 years, 5 years and 5.5 years are each taller than those of ten years ago.

The survey says the average height of Chinese boys aged 4.5 is 110.2 centimeters, 3.1 centimeters taller than the counterpart ten years ago.

The average height of five-year-old Chinese girls is 112.7 centimeters, 2.7 centimeters taller than those of ten years ago.

Chinese babies under one year old are 0.5 kilograms heavier than those of ten years ago, and children aged 1-6 weigh, on average, around 1.5 kilograms more.
