FIFA wants over-age players out of Olympics

FIFA president Sepp Blatter said Wednesday night that the football's world
governing body will try to remove the over-age rule for the 2008 Olympics in
Beijing.
"We will ask the FIFA Congress in 2006 whether they will abolish the three
over-age players," he said.
Since 1996 the under-23 age limit has been accompanied by a rule allowing
three over-age players to take part.
Some nations have decided not to send any over-age players for the Olympics,
persuading FIFA to review the rule.
