Jessica Simpson to launch diamond jewellery collection

Jessica Simpson is set to release a fine jewellery range with Firestar Diamonds.
The reality TV star has become the first celebrity to work with the company on their Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend collection, which will be released in October.
Jessica has previously leant her name to shoes, clothes, accessories and fragrances, but has ensured she has put her own personal touch to the collection with Firestar, with the loops on hearts incorporated into pieces of jewellery taken from her actual script handwriting.
She told WWD: "Jewellery is such personal expression of style and taste. This collection has allowed me to create pieces that truly reflect who I am, and that can become a keepsake for lifetime.
I love that a piece of fine jewellery can be passed down from generation to generation. I cherish the "pieces that were given to me, so it is really special to be able to design my own and the collection is beautifully crafted. The designs are airy and artistic and so easy to wear."
The collection includes pendants, earrings, rings, bracelets and bangles in gold, silver and diamonds, or with combination of all three, and retail between $79 and $999.
Theo Killion, chief executive officer of Zales - the US stores which will carry the range - said: "Jessica Simpson is viewed as the girl next door, and our guest is a midmarket guest and we believe she is someone that they can identify with.
"She has great reach and great power across a number of different categories, so doing a diamond fashion collection made perfect sense."
