Dalian, as the largest port city in northeast China, is given the good name of “window of the northeast”. It is a city with separate national economic and social development planning, a vice provincial-level city, an open-up city along the coast, and one of the 10 cities with most dynamic economies in China.?Its GDP in 2009 reached 441 billion, an increase of 15% year-on-year.
大連，中國東北地區(qū)最大的港口城市，有“東北之窗”的美譽，是國家社會與經濟發(fā)展計劃單列市、副省級城市、沿海開放城市，全國“十大經濟活力城市”之一。2009年，全市實現地區(qū)生產總值4411億元，比上年增長15%。
Dalian has a solid industrial foundation, full categories of industries and relatively strong abilities of comprehensive integration, with excellent capacities for absorbing international industries, especially manufacturing industrial transfers. As of today, Dalian has already formed an industrial system with the petrochemical, electronics, machinery, light textile and garment, metallurgy and building materials, foodstuff and medicine etc. as the mainstays, and many industrial enterprises as backbones in their respective industries in China. Dalian’s agriculture crops mainly include maize, wheat, and rice. With many fishing grounds along its coast, it is one of the major fish production areas of China. Transportation is very convenient in Dalian. It is a water, land and sea transportation hub, with several domestic airline routes and unfixed international tourism routes.
大連工業(yè)基礎雄厚，工業(yè)門類齊全，綜合配套能力較強，具有較強的承載世界制造業(yè)轉移的能力。目前已形成以石化、電子、機械、輕紡服裝、冶金建材、食品醫(yī)藥等行業(yè)為主的工業(yè)體系，有許多工業(yè)企業(yè)是中國同行業(yè)的骨干企業(yè)。大連農作物主要有玉米、小麥和水稻。沿海多漁場，是全國重點產魚區(qū)之一。大連交通運輸十分發(fā)達，是東北水陸交通的樞紐，擁有多條國內客運航空線及國際不定期旅游航線。
