日前，廣州市公安局加強(qiáng)警力，嚴(yán)厲打擊街角搶劫、毆斗等犯罪行為。2006年下半年，五百名特警將上路巡邏，除便衣巡邏之外，在路面上也投入公開巡邏的警力。

想必您已看出，“特警”和“便衣”相應(yīng)的英文表達(dá)分別是“special armed police”和“plainclothes
police”。這里提醒大家，寫plainclothes時千萬要記得在單詞末尾加“es”，plainclothes
police是集合名詞，如果要表達(dá)“一名便衣”則應(yīng)用“a plainclothes policeman”來形容，如：
That plainclothes policeman detained the drugpusher.（那名便衣把毒販給拘留了。）
另外，“便衣”也可說成plainclothesman。
