Former Portugal international Luis Figo says Spain will not win the World Cup.

Figo, who made over 125 appearances and scored more than 30 goals for his country, says Vicente del Bosque’s outfit do not have enough quality to retain their title.

Spain have won three consecutive major tournaments between 2008 and 2012, however they were convincingly brushed aside by Brazil when the two teams met in the Confederations Cup final last year.

"I do not think Spain will win the World Cup,” Figo told Laureus.com. “I don’t think they have the quality to do so. It will be difficult for them to win, but not impossible.”

Instead, Figo believes Brazil could win the tournament as they have a “great coach” and the advantage of home support.

"I think it helps to be playing at home. I know the Brazil coach [Luis Felipe Scolari] well and I think he's a great coach for this type of tournament and the country will help to support the team,” Figo added.

“It will be very, very difficult for other teams against Brazil [because of the support].”

The 41-year-old, who made over 160 appearances for Real Madrid, then backed his former club to win the Champions League on Saturday when they take on city rivals Atletico in Lisbon.

"I think Real Madrid will win because the last time they won, I was there [as a player] in 2002. So it's pretty special. I hope Real win, but you know that in a football final anything can happen."

相反，菲戈認(rèn)為巴西將贏得世界杯冠軍，因?yàn)樗麄儞碛幸粋€(gè)“偉大的教練”，又有主場(chǎng)的優(yōu)勢(shì)。

菲戈還補(bǔ)充道：“我認(rèn)為在主場(chǎng)比賽非常有幫助，我特別了解巴西教練斯科拉里（Scolari），我認(rèn)為，對(duì)于這種比賽，他非常有經(jīng)驗(yàn)，而且整個(gè)國(guó)家都會(huì)支持他們的球隊(duì)?！?/p>

“由于這種支持，其它球隊(duì)要想對(duì)抗巴西球隊(duì)是非常困難的?！?/p>

這位41歲的前皇馬球星曾為皇馬效力超過160場(chǎng)比賽。周六，他對(duì)老東家擊敗同城對(duì)手馬競(jìng)贏得歐冠冠軍表示了支持。

“我認(rèn)為皇馬會(huì)贏，因?yàn)樯弦淮卧?002年他們就贏了，當(dāng)時(shí)我還是場(chǎng)上球員。那種感覺非常特殊。我希望皇馬能贏，但是你要知道在決賽中什么事兒都有可能發(fā)生?！?/p>
