The Olympic Flame is continuing on its journey in Anhui province. The Olympic Torch Relay began its tour in Jixi County at 9 o'clock this morning (Friday).
Before the torch relay started, a minute of silence was observed in honor of the quake victims. Snooker sensation Ding Junhui served as the first torchbearer of the leg. Like other legs, the torch relay in Jixi has been scaled down to an hour.
Along the 4.5 kilometer route, residents cheered as they displayed banners showing support for the quake victims. Later this afternoon, the Olympic Flame will arrive in Huangshan, to continue its Olympic Torch Relay journey in the province.
