Gonna and Wanna 兩個詞的意思

Gonna and Wanna 兩個詞的意思

Hello! Sometimes I see some phrases such as 'wanna do', 'gonna do' in some dramas and songs. I want to know the meanings of 'wanna' and 'gonna' and how to use it. I haven't seen them in textbooks.

Our question this week relates to two informal words, gonna and wanna. They are examples of American English that you may hear in conversation particularly in films and TV dramas.

The words are short for 'going to' and 'want to' and although they get said they don't often get written down, unless you are trying to show someone's speech.

There are other examples of this informal colloquial English such as dunno and gotta. Find out what they mean with Rob and Feifei in Question and Answer of the Week.
